“Understanding these factors is crucial to lawn care.

Disease discoloration

Fungal diseases can also cause lawn discoloration.

Steven added: “Red thread gives your lawn a reddish tint during warm, wet weather.

“Applying a high-nitrogen fertiliser can help treat and prevent this fungus.

“Sclerotinia homoeocarpa results in small, circular patches of dead grass that appear bleached or straw-coloured.

“Regular mowing can help prevent this disease.”

Meanwhile, the expert shared some further tips to ensure your lawn remains green and vibrant throughout the summer.

Mow frequently

He shared: “Mowing your lawn regularly prevents many issues. It helps control fungal diseases and keeps the grass healthy.

“Over-watering can be as detrimental as under-watering.

“Water your lawn early in the morning to reduce evaporation and fungal growth.”
